I've read the Power of Positive Praying numerous times over the years. John Bisagno taught me so much about prayer, how to pray and never to use the biggest negative in the English language when praying - the word is " IF". He said it shows doubiet, . God if you are able would you do ..... Instead to pray According to your will. This book has truly touched my heart in so many ways.I bought my first book in the 1980's. Since then I quit counting - every time I bought one I would loan it out. It never came back. I found out that others were so impressed with the book that they would loan it to someone else. This book helped me to pray stronger prayers, to think about what I'm praying for and I have given some many of these books away as gifts. If you haven't read it and even think it will help you in your prayer life, then I highly recommend that you buy it and read it. Every book I loaned was highlighted, booked marked and read before passing it on. I no longer expect any of the books back. I truly believe that God laid it on my heart to pass them on to help others. As long as I feel that I will continue buying these books for others to read to.
So happy to have come across this wonderful and enlightening book by Reverend Bisagno. As a teen, I had the blessing of being a new member of Brother Bisagno's Del City, Oklahoma, congregation in the mid 1960's. The church grew by leaps and bounds, adding several hundred new members in a short amount of time. He had a great affect on my Christian life, then and even now, 50 years later. Nicely written book, and very thought provoking, and super nice "revisiting" those happy years. I was so fortunate to have had this kind of spiritual leadership in my life. I was very sad when my parents decided to move our family a hundred miles away. God Bless you and your family, Brother Bisagno.
To me this book contains much more helpful info and insights to more than just prayer. It seems like Dr. Bisagno is writing about the Christian life in general coming off years of practical experience and living knowledge of what the Bible says. I was helped along the way in numerous areas besides prayer, but also helped immeasurably with prayer too. It is such a good and powerful resource that I plan to read it again.I have recommended to several friends already
First read this book about 30 years ago. It remains my favorite book about prayer. I buy these in bulk and give them away. I have also taught the book numerous time in numerous churches. It is good.
This is a great update to Power of Positive Praying. I read this book when I was 14, and it stayed with me. The book has new chapters that expand on older ideas. The new chapters add to the core ideas of prayer and help ius see prayer as an integral part of our spiritual life. I recommend this book for new and mature Christians alike.
Let me see if I can make this perfectly clear: BUY THIS BOOK. How come? For starters, I'll tell you what it is not. It is not a book that simply tries to motivate you toward a certain way of praying. Oh, you'll be motivated all right. It's just that the motivation comes from the discovery of how to pray and breaking molds of praying like you've heard.This book goes step by step through the way God wants you to pray; not out of desparation, but out of fellowship and worship. If you begin your prayer requests with something like, "God, if it be your will..." then you desparately need this book. After reading it, your prayer life will be unlike ever before.
Full of wonderful insight which I want to apply to my life. Always refreshing to hear how much God loves us. HE wants all His children to share eternity with Him. Count me in Lord!!
This book had a great influence on my prayer life & caused me to search the Holy Scripture to become closer to God.
