About the Author

Dave McKean is an illustrator, photographer, comic book artist, graphic designer, filmmaker, and musician. His work incorporates drawing, painting, photography, collage, found objects, digital art, and sculpture. After a trip to New York in 1986, during which he failed to find work as a comics artist, McKean met writer Neil Gaiman and the pair collaborated on a short graphic novel of disturbing childhood memories, Violent Cases, published in 1987. This was followed in 1988 by a Black Orchid miniseries (again with Gaiman) and Hellblazer covers for DC Comics. Beginning in 1989 he produced the covers for Gaiman's celebrated series The Sandman as well as all its collected editions and many of its spin-offs; and the Batman graphic novel, Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, with writer Grant Morrison (1989). McKean has gone on to collaborate further with Neil Gaiman in both print and film.

My first version of this review was low ONLY because of a weirdly defective blu-ray that came with the hardcover book. After a few months I'm happy to say that Dark Horse has mailed me a replacement blu-ray that loads and plays with no issues.For those that are buying this and finding they can't get their discs to play properly, Dark Horse has implemented an exchange program for those with defective discs. This is a really lovely portfolio centered around his short-film and motion pictures.The blu-ray is split into various categories on the main screen so you can view them based on themes, or you can "play all" and let everything play in complete.For those fans that might have missed the DVD released "Keanoshow" some 10 years ago, this contains everything important he's committed to film; from his "The Day Before" (which I remember buying on VHS back in the mid 90's; excited that the artist I loved who made those amazing Sandman covers was starting to do video/film work) right up to more recent things.If you are a McKean fan, this blu-ray/hardcover collection is a *must* for your collection. It's all of Dave's short film work on one blu-ray and it'll provide hours of inspiration.I love this set. From the gorgeous hardcover book showcasing his beautiful design work to the blu-ray which shows just about everything he's made on film (this does NOT include his feature films, like Mirrormask, Luna or The Gospel of Us). Thanks to Dark Horse for correcting the blu-ray issue fairly fast.Get this. Be inspired.

The book and artwork are outstanding, but the Blu-ray won't play. I have looked closer at the disc authoring, and there are some issues with certain aspects of the disc that cause playback problems. It would need to be re-authored to fix the problem, so ordering a replacement will not likely help until they fix the original problem.

Whatâ€™s up, Dark Horse? An artist as great as Dave McKean deserves better quality control than this.

I have seen "The Week Before" and it is amazing. I am chomping at the bit to see his other short films. Im sure this is a 5 star film once they work the product out. Received today, blu ray disc wonâ€™t play and was actually pretty scuffed up. Will be exchanging for one that hopefully works.

I returned the first copy of the book because the disc was defective. Just received the replacement today and that disc does not work either. They were tried in two separate blu-ray machines. Extremely disappointed.

Love the book but already sent back once because the bluray won't play on any of my own or friends blu ray players. I read this blu ray had problems and rolled the dice anyway...oh well

I have read all of Dave Ramsey's books except the one he wrote with his daughter. This is by far my favorite. I am a coordinator for his FPU classes, so yes, I've drank the Kool Aid as they say. But this book really tied everything together for me, not just the financial aspect but how this all relates to ALL OF LIFE. I wish this book got more attention than it does. I do buy a copy for all my students in my FPU classes, it is THAT IMPORTANT TO READ. Even if you aren't "into" Ramsey or FPU, it is a great "this is what you are doing on this planet" book.

I did not read the entirety of this book, perhaps this is an unfair review, BUT THIS IS NOT A BOOK ABOUT FINANCES. If youâ€™re looking for a Dave Ramsey book on finance, youâ€™re looking for: The Total Money Makeover and/or Financial Peace.This book is about getting rich in other avenues on your life: spiritually and familially, but does not specifically relate that back to finance in any relevant way. If youâ€™re not seeking any kind of marriage or spiritual advice, definitely go with one of Daveâ€™s other books.

I read Dave's book, "Financial Peace" first, before this one. I really liked Financial Peace, and also enjoyed this book. Where Financial Peace focused more on getting out of debt and saving money, this book focused on money and how it relates to your family, career, and life in general. Dave presents 10 keys on how to build wealth while maintaining a happy and successful lifestyle. Dave brings real life experiences from himself and his clients to help support his 10 keys. Two of the parts I found informative to my situation were 1) discussing your finances with your wife/spouse and children and 2) how to come up with a chore list and allowance for your children. These are things that my family already does, but Dave gave some great advice that helped make it even better. I look forwards to reading more of his financial books, and continuing our path on reducing debt and gaining wealth.

This book was more than I expected and I expected a lot. This book has easily put itself at the top of my list of favorites. There is so much wisdom in these pages and I will be revisiting this book over and over. Read it slow, you don't want to miss a thing! Thanks Dave for great read and a how to book for life!

Love all his books. Started with total money make over. Helped us so much, and written to be an enjoyable book to read, so I wanted to read more of his offerings. I enjoyed this book and recommend it.

Basic principles that seem too simple to work, but do. I read Financial Peace years ago and started the process, however, I wasn't ready to be disciplined & diligent to make the changes needed. Fast forward 8 yrs when I've realized I have to work harder & save more for dragging my feet. Don't be like me, start the journey now to having More Than Enough & be the generous giver your Heavenly Father intended you to be.

Most of the book was a repeat of the prior chapter. It was poorly written and felt more like an essay then motivational or informative. I like Dave Ramsey but this book was a disappointment.

Got an older print of the book used. It is really good and uses a lot of real examples that everyone can relate too. Dave's way of including is wife's thoughts on each chapter are great for couples to read as well as singles. The lessons and keys that he mentions are not rocket science and since I am not a rocket scientist they work for me.Overall this is a great book.

I thought this book was so realistic in its explanation for why companie's culture prevents good maintenance practices on assets/equipment. This book should be read by those who have the authority to make the changes. Although I agree with everyone in the book, I am not in a position to make the 30k ft level changes needed. Excellent book for reliability engineers, managers, and maintenance people.
